It's Valentine's Day and my 30th Birthday today.

And I'm back to the clinic at about the same hour as my last post.

The big difference is, I come here today sans my glasses! Yes, and I feel damn great, except that my eyes are looking damn scary with loads of red patches on the white area.

I've got myself a superb birthday present. A clear vision and hopefully more wisdom as well.

Big 3-0! Here I come!!

Now, time to have some rest while queuing to see the doc :)

Having mixed feelings now while waiting at the LASIK surgery clinic. Tried to go down to shop at Paragon, but the mind just can't stay focused.

So, I ordered a grande caramel macchiato to keep myself calm and warm... Breathe in.. Breathe out...

About 45 more mins to go, and the moment I'd been waiting for is here.. Deep phsyco-ing myself to think of the end results!!

Cruise Day 3 | 20.09.2011

Let's do a photo recap on the unfinished cruise holiday posts!

Reached Phuket pretty early at around 9am..

Booked a transport for the day, I remember the driver spoke very minimal English. Luckily we still managed to cover the places we had planned..

My first stop – the long awaited massage at Burasari. Experienced the Thai signature massage for THB 1,500. Superb!! I must go back again.... *hint*

The kids and husband recharged themselves with loads of fries and hash brown at McDonalds while waiting for me..

Soon, they picked me up and we started our shopping spree at Patong Beach. I wish the time could just go a little slower, so we could lugged more stuff back. Unfortunately, the tummy were growling for food, and my back was shouting to rest as Bosco had dozed off in my arms.

So, we bidded goodbye to Patong to search for that authentic Thai cuisine, Raya..

Here at Raya, I was really looking forward to yummy Thai food, as described by Andy when he visited in Jan 2011.

The interesting decor has that wow factor, cos it resembled my kampong hometown from my childhood memories.

Crabmeat curry served with white vermicelli – pure satisfaction *must try*

Pad thai, fried rice and braised pork belly were among what we ordered.
Didn't remember fried rice could taste so good!

The kids enjoyed their lunch experience as much as Andy and I *burp*

Now I really miss Phuket.... ♥

Decluttering, Reorganizing, Getting Back on Track

Prepping for the New Year

With much courage and support from Mrs Goh, finally I walked into PRO TRIM at Causeway Point and told the stylist, "I'd like to perm my hair!"

It was the day right after my submission, the boss gave LZ and I time-off to rest right after lunch. The voice in me whispered, "Never try, then I'd never know if having a curl would ever suit me?!" The stylist was very talkative in explaining carefully on every step he's going to make. Sleepy me managed to survive the 4 hours (cut + digital perm + treatment) and was pretty happy with the results...

Today's the 3rd day, I'm a bit worried on how to keep the curl nicely maintained and styled -_-|| Anyway, meeting Mrs Goh tomorrow to give me tips and showing me lobangs to buy hair products.. *excited*

Hello 2012!

Again, it's the ~~darn~~ can't-leave-without-it mcD 'premium roast' coffee that keeps me awake at this wee hour..

Tonight, LZ and I left the office after 12 again.. We got all our proofs printed and trimmed nicely to size. The feeling was fantastic, pure satisfaction. We could have completed maybe 2 hours earlier, if not for the wrong book size given. Ah... lucky we found out tonight, and not tomorrow, the submission day!

We could have submitted with the nicely done up cover as well, if not for the last minute change of title. Ah well... better luck next time. Overall, I think we did well :)

Moving forward, I'm yearning for a good break and quality time with my family. I need time to unpack all my Christmas gifts; sort out and upload photos online; resume the holiday posts on my blog; start spring cleaning; have a little haircut; go back to my diet routine; staying away from coffee for a little while...

Yes! Quality time like this...

I'm A Happy Woman!

The second time I worked past midnight in this week, and darn, the coffee I had after dinner kept me awake at this hour.

I spent the last 20 minutes writing thank you email to the team, and I must pen down my thoughts further here.

This last week of 2011 has been a really satisfying week at work. Working closely with the editors to meeting 2 packages of MOE submissions, felt really good! The thankful gazes and smiles from them were simply genuine.

And then, there was another tender job which got LZ and I worked hand-in-hand for the first time. As weird as it sounds, being colleagues with her for so many years but this is actually our first 'partnership' project. And hey, the chemistry was good! Hope the final product would secure the tender!

Anyway,... last year, I hoped for a successful team building in 2011. I actually failed terribly in the first half of the year. Those were the most stressful time in my working life – I lost weight, I had shingles, stomach flus.. yikes!!

I am a really lucky woman who always have the love from my family to pull through the tough period. By starting all over again, I gained my colleagues' trust, friendship and supports like never before. I enjoyed the special bonding with my teammates, my coordinators, my interns, my freelancers and my editors.

I'm happy cos of the tough job I have, I learn to appreciate the people around me even more.

I'm happy cos I have the most understanding and loving husband who woken me up to reality and made me faced and solved my own problems! Thank you for never giving up on me, dear!

I'm happy I have in-laws who always offer extra help and take good care of the kids.

I'm happy and very very proud of my 2 kids!

I'm happy I made more friends than before.

I'm happy I have friends who are always there for me, be it a simple rant, moral boost, or a playdate!

Overall, 2011 has been a challenging yet fruitful year for me. I hope it has been a good and memorable one for you too!

Here's wishing everybody a better and brighter year 2012!

A Long Christmas Week

About half of my long Christmas weekend was spent working this year. I see my colleagues more than my family. Luckily I managed to attend the yearly Xmas gathering organized by Rachel. It was a good time out!

This hectic schedule will go on for another 2 weeks at least. I hope for the best of health and a strong mind to complete the cycle.

And I'm already looking forward to CNY break... Or maybe my birthday week...

Chloe crying loudly: ＂我很想爸爸。。哇。。哇。。哇。。我们是 family!! 哇。。＂

On the other side of the bed, Bosco was mimicking the hand sign of 'no-more' and asked me repeatedly, ＂爸爸？爸爸？＂

Then he went, "爸爸。。买。。Cars 2!!＂

Chloe's 4th Birthday

Some flashbacks on the celebrations for Chloe's 4th Birthday last month. On the other note, Chloe has gotten the chicken pox from Bosco too. May they recover fast and leave no scar :)

14.10.2011| Celebration at School
Just got outta afternoon nap Chloe, posing happily with her Stitch cake. She had this love at the first sight with Stitch and currently still on her top favourite list.

We (the 2 sis-in-laws, Chloe and Bosco) arrived at her childcare slightly after 3pm. Chloe's classmates were all expecting her (cake and goodie bags) already.

Bosco added on, "Make it fast, jie! We still need to meet Papa for dinner!"

Birthday song was sung, wishes were made, candles were blown and the cake was cut!

That's Chloe + classmates and Teacher Jermaine. (Chloe moved from Little Footprints to Sparkletots since April and had been the only girl in the N2 class ever since.)

Then I brought the kids to take the public transports to meet Papa for dinner. Bosco expressed that he loved the bus more than the train and vice versa for Chloe.

Busy busy October

...and I had closed the month of October with only 2 posts...

I'm happy as it's end of the year already. We had enjoyed a tremendous week with the visit of my family last week. All went well and we hoped the holiday would never end.

Post holiday, we had just sent back another helper this afternoon. The search of a new helper goes on... Oh, how we miss Nana...

Lastly, Bosco boy had chicken pox since yesterday. He is a little demanding today. I hope the outbreak will come down in no time. On the other hand, I'm feeling a little thankful that he has it at such early age. The younger the better, as the folks say...

Hopefully will get to flood the blog with some updates soon...

And yes, she has changed a lot from that drooling, hair-can't-seem-to-grow-long baby to a little girl who asks 10,000 whys but still melts your heart in so many ways!

Revisiting 槟城 and 极乐寺

Charging ourselves with power breakfast for a day trip at Penang!

We got down to Penang at around 12:30pm, being picked up by our trustworthy taxi driver soon after at Penang Port. What's the one place that we have always planned to revisit in Penang? 极乐寺, of course.

We covered the place well this time by ~~walking~~ climbing a lot of stairs, praying at different altars, making donations and well-wishes..

Other stuff that we did were buying some local delicacies, getting a new luggage to replace our spoilt one, trying out the best char kway teow in Penang, and a short shopping break at Gurney Plaza..

Lastly, our final itinerary at Penang was food hunting at Gurney Drive.

Most of the food stalls were just starting to prepare their food at 5pm++. What we managed to try were another plate of char kway teow, a really authentic mua chee, and a unique sotong kangkong (nom, nom, nom...)

Back to the cruise at around 6pm++
I think we had barbeque dinner that night on the cruise. The kids then dozed off pretty early too, which allowed Andy and I to try out our lucks at the casino..

An Easy First Night

The cruise started off soon after the kids slept, around 4:30pm

Best time to sneak out with the husband to get some quick bites at The Blue Lagoon. And man, this kampong fried wings were really tasty!!

Later when Chloe woke up, she went to the pool with Papa and Bosco stayed in with me as he was having slight fever. Quick washing up following up, so that we could zoom out to have our dinner at the Pavillion. However, it was fully booked so we had to dine Chinese cuisine at Bella Vista.

The food was quite a let down on that night...

It was an early night for the kids after Bosco poo-ed and smell real bad! Haa!!

We reached and checked-in early at Harbourfront Centre before 11am. Brought the kids to see the cruise model and have an idea where we're going to stay for the next few days..

We came back from our 3N4D Penang Phuket Cruise with SuperStar Virgo last night. All things went well. It was much more relaxing compared to the Macau/Hong Kong trip. Very recommended for parents who travel with running ~~monkeys~~ kids like ours. Will blog about the trip more later....

Last month, on Bosco's birthday, we went to try Paradise Dynasty at ION Orchard after hearing many good recommendations. I think this group of restaurants is now our most favourite Chinese cuisine pick, after Din Dai Fung. I think they have done a good job for the member loyalty programme too! One complain though, the PR supervisor at Paradise Inn@Funan Mall was way too annoying for hard-selling mooncakes to us!

Back to the topic, it was a great day for everyone took leave to celebrate birthday with Bosco! You have no idea how difficult it is to invite my FIL out to Orchard, on a weekday!

Cruising Thru Time

A little hiatus since the last post.. My weekdays nights had been spent doing house chores and nothing but house chores. And it made me realize the freak in me. I bet the husband was a little annoyed by my persistence in cleaning up the house. Sorryyyyy....

Now with all things aside, I'm in a very settled mood to blog about tomorrow, or rather, later in the day... We are going away on a little vacation, yep it'll be just the four of us. What makes this special, it's as what the husband call it, the rekindled honeymoon.

Flash back 4 years ago, Andy and I went on a cruise holiday, as our 'honeymoon', right after my first trimester, together with both our parents and Kelly along.... Now u know why this time will be special!! :) So stories been shared to Chloe that she was in my tummy back then, and this trip will actually be her second. I wonder if she really understands...?

In the span of a month, both Andy and I have put back the kilos we managed to lose in the past 4 months. We threw the idea of dieting far out of the windows ever since we spend the weekends with the Gohs.

Being able to eat whatever we want, feel really good!

Being able to enjoy the good food together, damn it's the most Sin(幸)-Ful(福) thing in the world!

Bye Bye, Nana!

Andy posted this on his facebook a while ago..

Like the saying goes, 世界上没有不散的宴席... Our good helper, Nana, has to bid goodbye to us tomorrow after staying with us for 1.5 years. I remember vividly that her first day was 01.03.2010, on Andy's 31st birthday. The kids were close to her soon after..

She's not perfect, but she's definitely the best that we've ever got. I relied a lot on her for the house chores. She practically had to 'handover' her duties to me these couple of days.

Chloe said she would miss her very much. And that she won't like the 'new' Nana jiejie, cos she won't have long hair like this Nana jiejie.... -_-

Probably Chloe's hinting that nobody would help to tie fanciful hairstyles for her anymore..

I knew Bosco would miss her heaps too as someone who can depicts what he wants.

We had to capture this moment down for future memory.

Must really say thank you for being such a reliable helper and friend. You will be missed!

Red and Lilac | A Warm Saturday

It took me a while to think of a suitable title for this post. That Saturday, 30.07.2011, the Gohs and Lims dated out again to Science Centre with the complimentary tickets from RZ.

However, the title 'Great Outing at Science Centre' wasn't really suitable as we didn't enjoy the exhibitions on that day. It was extremely crowded with various group of visitors. Majority of them were tourists and a huge group of Primary school kids from China. My good impression of Science Centre since the last visit just seem so overrated. And the waterworks near the entrance has also become a free water play for the kids living in the vicinity. Tsk, tsk...

So, the perks of the day?
A good chilling corner at McDonald's, and a lovely set captured for memories.

From Science Festival to Marina Barrage

Last month, we dated the Gohs for a day out to Science Festival at Suntec City (to support Ms RZ at work!) The exhibition wasn't as crowded as expected. Some of the booths presented really good information for us, eg. the cheeseburger facts. And working our brains to complete the mission were pretty fun too – though we thought the pressie could be more attractive hehehe

Milestone Before Turning 2 Years Old

Bosco is turning 2 years old in 4 day's time.

Finally I weaned him off from breastfeeding at 23mths. The painful process lasted for a week before he totally forgot about it. Now, he's sharing step 4 mamil gold with Chloe jiejie.

He's sleeping through the night since 23 months.
Limited vocabulary: Papa, Mama and Nai Nai before 23 months.
Rapid additions in the last month: Blue, Bus, Bye, Duck, Hello, Purple, Please, Taxi, Star, Nen Nen
Not-so-accurate favourite words: Barney, Dora, Flower, Flag, Moon, Pear
Self-feeding whenever we dine out

Overall, I think his feature hasn't changed much, except that he has lost all the baby fats (especially on his cheeks!!!*bite*)

The husband decided to get an iPad 2 for the family -- reason being, "It's bigger screen for the kids' perfect eyesight!"

It was my 3rd time on Singapore Flyer – almost a year after my last ride. Not much has changed, except that they added a mini showcase about Singapore while walking towards the giant wheels..

Equipped with my EFS 55–250mm lens for the first time, shooting portraits was a challenge.

I think at this age, Bosco would have loved the view... just too bad he was sleeping away. Andy and my MIL were at Popeye's with Bosco while waiting for us.

Chloe was however not attracted and was not too pleased to begin with...

She rather spent time playing games on the iPhone

That day, I found the ride rather boring too.
Next time I must try to take it in the evening to experience the night view.

The fun part for me was to be able to explore my lens...

Kelly's 9th Birthday

Kelly's mummy threw a party at McDonald's early in June for Kelly's 9th Birthday. It got my Chloe asking for a birthday party held at McDonald's too. "Wait til you are in Primary School," I told Chloe.

We didn't manage to stay throughout the party, because...

Chloe had too much nuggets and fries!

Way too many until she complained of having stomach pain... (see her expression?)

And angry Bosco who can't get enough of the fries too!

Kelly is a big girl now... how time flies~~

Few days later, it was Kelly's actual birthday (09.06.2011). We had a hearty meal at home, cooked by mum-in-law and completed with Kelly's favourite mango cake from Prima Deli. nom nom nom~~~

They say with age, along comes wisdom. I couldn't agree more with dear husband's exceptional TLC recently. It was our 5th ROM anniversary and work was damn shitty. Then I received lovely surprise from Andy delivered to the office. I think at that very moment, my whole world stopped. Trying very much to control that tears from falling down, I called my man to thank him.

At the same time, I felt sorry for myself. Sorry for drowning myself with piles and piles of work. Sorry for not able to leave home early for the family. It was a real wake-up call... So, with love and support from the family, I re-evaluated the family and work balance. Nothing else matters more than the family.

With growing love and wisdom *ahem*, I'm sure we can overcome this.

HK Day 4 | 3 May 2011

Last day at HK *sobs*, we decided to pamper ourselves to a good dim sum at East Ocean 东海, Tsim Sha Tsui Centre, next to Shangri-la Hotel.

A little disappointed initially, when we learnt that they didn't serve 流沙包 like we have it here in Singapore. But everything else was just so uhmmmm yummay!!

After lunch, we settled the kids back to the hotel for a short nap. That's part of the agenda to sneak out without the kids again. We savoured last round of desserts before leaving for the airport around 4pm.

We arrived really really early at the airport. The kids couldn't be happier, not to mention recharged, after their power nap.

Yup! We had dinner at Tsui Wah again... (4th time), and the standard of food was equally as good as before, especially their 鱼蛋河粉.

HK Day 3 | 2 May 2011

It was our 2nd last day in HK, and having not planned the exact itinerary, we strolled out after breakfast and took the unusual route. We were walking towards Tsim Sha Tsui from the hotel and viola, we reached Harbour City 海港城, a huge shopping centre with a wide range of shopping *happy*

So, we continued walking, go through the Tsim Sha Tsui MTR station to go to our next destination

And we reached Avenue of Stars 星光大道 soon after.

While dancing and eating, the 老婆饼 slipped out of his hand, hence this wailing face

Out of K11, we took the train to Mongkok 旺角 and did a brief shop at Ladies Market 女人街.
Managed to curb my craving of egg waffles 雞蛋仔, 臭豆腐，炸大肠。。。Good time had to end soon as the boy was super cranky, the crowd was getting too overwhelming for the 4 of us. Ah well, Chloe was still in her posing mode, haha!!

So, we flagged a cab back to the hotel, reunited with PIL and Kelly for dinner at Tsui Wah (3rd time) near the hotel. And back again to the hotel to meet one of our relatives in HK.

The Peak and Madame Tussauds

HK Day 2 PM | 1 May 2011

The initial plan to take the tram up to the peak was changed due to the queue was exceptionally long. It was the 黄金周 holiday for HK and China that whole week. So, we flagged a cab and paid about HKD200+ to The Peak to beat the crowd.

Catching Up, Dim Sum and Festival Walk

HK Day 2 | 1 May 2011

Rise and shine to a fresher day 2, the kids were nicely dressed up and (seem) patiently waiting for the parents to go out.

Thanks to our glorious iPhones for keeping the kids entertained.

We were then treated to a yummy breakfast dim sum at (can't-recall-name). It's somewhere near to the Nathan Hotel, which is also within walking distance from our current hotel.

Meet Nelson and Daisy, Andy's former colleagues from F&N. They have greatly assisted us during our stay in HK. Super friendly people!

Psst.. Daisy has shared many good places for shopping too! hiaks!

Chloe and Daisy 'clicked', as soon as they met.

Nelson and Daisy accompanied us and showed us the good stuff while walking from 佐敦 Jordan to 旺角 Mongkok. Then, they recommended 又一城 Festival Walk at 九龙塘 Kowloon Tong for us to shop for the rest of the day.

And so we did.. *excited*

Ferry Ride to HK, MTR and Tsui Wah

HK Day 1 | 30 April 2011

After bus-hopping in the past 2 days at Macau, we were very much looking forward to visiting Hong Kong. We took ferry ride around 11am. Traveling time was around 1 hr. It cost us around SGD20–30 per person, even the kid is paying the same price.

The ferry was similar to the one you take when going Batam or Bintan, except that it's much cleaner and well-organized.

Upon reaching Hong Kong, we flagged a cab down to our hotel near 庙街 Temple Street, Evergreen Hotel. Remember I wrote that Andy planned for almost everything for this trip? Now this hotel was the exception. -_-

Moving on, we had quickie lunch at a small 茶餐厅 next to the hotel and started to explore the vicinity. Our nearest MTR station was 佐敦 Jordan and boy, their station was really not stroller-friendly. We traveled to 中環 Central (too high class) and 铜锣湾 Causeway Bay (too crowded).

Train was considered not too packed, for a Saturday afternoon,
compared to our MRT passengers...

The seven of us (FIL, MIL, A, B, C, D and Kelly) got really really tired by 5pm. Since morning, there was the ferry ride, the moving of luggages, the carrying of our stroller up and down while climbing the staircases. So we headed back to the hotel, lied flat for 20 minutes or so, had a quick shower and out we went hunting for dinner.

The street was crowded, the restaurants were full of queues. When we almost surrendered to having McDonald's, 翠华茶餐厅 Tsui Wah Restaurant caught our attention. It was love at the first taste. What a cozy good restaurant it was!

Macau Day 2 PM | 29 April 2011

After our hearty dimsum at Sands, we bid goodbye with my in-laws again and departed for 大三芭 (da san ba) to cover at least one tourist attraction in Macau.

And here are the snippets:

First stop after alighting from the taxi, we took this photo at the main entrance.
I had just googled it to learn that this is called the Senado Square.

While making our way up to the Ruins of St. Paul's, we were distracted by how crowded this store was. It claimed to sell the famous Macau pork chop bun with the endorsements of some korean stars too. With excitement, Andy quickly joined the queue to get the pork chop buns, the egg tarts and the bubble tea.

A total disappointment we must say! I bet 90% of the patrons were all tourists whom were misled by the queue...

Less than 10 minutes later, we reached our destination, the Ruins of St. Paul's.

Snap! Snap! Snap! We took turns to pose, except for Bosco who got too sleepy in his stroller..

Not wanting to end the experience so soon, Andy zoomed to find other 'fulfillment'.

"Look baby! I got you more Portuguese egg tarts! And Gong Cha!!"

The egg tarts from Koi Kei 钜记饼家 were good, but I still prefer the tarts from Choi Heung Yuen 咀香園餅家.

But its Gong Cha was really good. The same bubble tea bought from Singapore was nowhere to be compared to the ones we bought in Macau! Happy, happy, everybody's happy!

I remembered it was raining that morning. So, we flagged a cab and randomly visited a hotel nearby. Someone suggested Wynn Macau. It was a good place to roam, do window shopping and take photographs while waiting for the weather to settle down.

The rain had not stopped either when we left Wynn. As hunger kicked in, we regrouped back with the inlaws at Sands to have a good dim sum lunch.

Macau, Here We Come!

Macau Day 1 | 28 April 2011

The Lims had another fantabulous holiday back in end April to Macau and HK. Andy planned for almost everything. There were 4 of us, my niece–Kelly, my inlaws and inlaws' 8 more friends flying together. Yep, total 15 of us flying together.

Holiday started from the early flight with Tiger Airways to Macau.
It was mere 6am in the morning,
and Chloe was too excited about the whole trip!

At the stroller, in the cabin.

Work was crazy and I barely slept for 2 hours the night before.

Reached Macau Int'l Airport 3 hour and 40 minutes later,
and the kids were busy navigating around with the map...

Didn't manage to check-in to the hotel yet,
so we strolled out right after our lunch.

First stop, Fisherman's Wharf. Sadly, it was deserted and clearly over-rated..
Weather was pretty cooling though..

One thing we really loved about Macau was the free bus services from one casino to the other. So, we moved on to The Venetian soon after...

Andy and the inlaws were soon nowhere to be found (kidding!)
Well, the casino were clearly tempting... That place resembles a lot like Genting Highlands, a bigger and more elegant one of course!

I took a break with the children at Starbucks,
thankfully it was big and spacious enough for Bosco to roam around!

Before that, a quick glimpse on our new year get-together with the usual gang on 31st Dec. The New Year was wide welcomed with pizza and wine.

Chloe stayed up to celebrate with the adults as well,

Then, another get-together on 1st Jan with the same gang as well. We headed out for prata supper at Jalan Kayu. It was the first supper out of the house for the kids. Chloe asked me a funny question, "Mama, did you bring my porridge along?"

Then I had to explain to her the essence of supper. It wasn't lunch or dinner, and kids were supposed to be asleep at that time :)

2 weeks later, was our first holiday up north to Kuala Lumpur. It's been more than 2 years since we last visited KL. And if you're reading this, Hal, we miss you a lot *hugs*

This trip, we put up at Park Royal Hotel, located at the central of Bukit Bintang, which was surrounded by malls, malls and more malls.

And our girl got really vain trying on clothes at every chance she had!

Yes. I'm fighting with the time. A few more days to cny, and I'm doing posts on Christmas 2010. Maybe it's the weather that inspired me. Geez, it's been raining non-stop for more than 24 hours now. Hope it stops soon. I wanna travel easy to work tomorrow morning!!

昨晚与老公敖通宵，只为了在他出差之前追完 “谈情说案”。

刚开始看，感觉剧情有点普通，老公甚至叫我自己追，说他不想看了。
哪知道案件越来越紧张，两个世界的爱情戏也好感人。

马国明越看越可爱，林峰那长博士脸也随着人生挫折，讨到怜悯，值得夸赏！
欢喜大结局，不急也不夸张，是最后的添分素。

我个人最喜欢就是 Professor Kingsley 在最后一集的颁奖典礼上示爱。
好感动。。。

An Early Date

We woke up as early as 5:50 this morning to beat the Monday rush. We reached his work place before 7am.

Then we took a stroll down to Bugis Guan Ying Temple for morning prayer. The streets were tranquil. The people were peaceful. Non rushing. Non chasing.

Right after that, it was breakfast at the nearby hawker center. The kopi strong fragrance was exactly what I've been missing for. None of the 3-in-1 mixture or the high-end coffee house could ever replace.

After breakfast, Andy walked me to the bus stop. And we parted with a goodbye kiss when my bus arrived.

This early moment certainly kicked off a great start to the working week.
I love you, dear!

We queued for this corporate friends of the zoo card since November last year. It was such a long wait for the children. Besides the rain during lunch hour, everything else turned out fine. And the four families were actually on time (for the first time!)

A Great Start To The New Year

This week, Andy and I sent Chloe to her long-awaited 'school'. Such a happy baby, she wore a big smile and posed a victory sign in every photo we took.

Well done baby!

Papa and Mama are so proud of you!!

Catching up with jie jie's achievement, 'lil Bosco decided to walk unassisted on 4 Jan. His steps were pretty steady, confirming to our findings that he was just too reliant to our helping hands.

Nevertheless, we were also very elated to his new milestone.

Good job, Bosco!

I wish for good health, wealth and happiness for everyone in this new year.
I personally want to eat well, live well and have more quality time with my family.

In late November, we had short staycation at Marina Bay Sands to celebrate my promotion at work. It has been a challenging and fulfilling year, to think that I was so worried to go back to work after my maternity leave with Bosco. I'm so glad everything went well.

The luxury stay was certainly indulging. We loved the infinity pool, just too bad my helper wasn't around to snap the moments down.

Anyway, here's to a more responsibilities-bound and better team-building year. Cheers!!

Kuantan 4-6 Nov: Quiet Beach

After filling our hungry tummies at the hotel restaurant, it's time to charge our souls too at the beach.

Walking from the restaurant, we past the quiet pool, before reaching the quiet beach too. We almost thought we have booked the wrong resort with low popularity. Only til the last day stay, we learnt to appreciate that quiet is tranquil. That we were smart to reach 1 day before the public holiday, to beat the crowd.

So this was first visit to the beach, Day 1:

Boy In Deep Thought...

At 14 months, he started to call 'Papa'.

This morning (4 days to 15 months), he called me 'Mama'.

And he is showing signs to walk without assistance soon...

We really couldn't wait~~

Kuantan 4-6 Nov: Driving Up

We spent 5.5 hour driving up north to Kuantan, Malaysia with the Yips on 4 Nov. With little help of our cheap GPS and great amount of checking out the print out of Google Maps, we reached Swiss Garden Resort at around 1pm.

The trip was almost canceled due to Chloe's gastric flu the night before, which she vomitted whatever she took in. Thankfully her condition was soon under control after seeing the pd at 9pm. Not wanting to disappoint the kids and the Yips, we went ahead with the trip by packing lots of medicine on standby.

Good thing Chloe recovered fast. What we faced during the trip was a very hungry 3-year-old who kept asking for a lot of food. Her appetite turned so good but Andy and I were afraid that we would overfeed her. So, a grouchy girl she became. Apart from that, the trip was a good and exciting experience us.

I don't know which part of Malaysia would Andy like to go next year. Hmmm...

End note: The coastal road up to Kuantan was a better driving experience than the North-South-Highway with less traffic and a more sceneric journey. Best part, it's toll-free! And I actually prefer this cos the husband seem to drive at a slower speed. Hiak Hiak Hiak!

Playdates And More...

I remember when I was a kid, my only playmates would be my 2 elder brothers. We played with the cars, action figures and some karate acts during our free time. That should explain why I'm not into barbie, hello kitty or other girlie flowery stuff.

And 20 over years forward, as a Mother of 2, I'm glad my kids are blessed with wonderful friends to play with.

The 3 year olds

Chloe meets Jayden at least once a week. They eat, play, sing, watch TV, sleep and show affection towards each other occasionally. And (yes!) they're going for holiday together tomorrow.

Toddlers Gang

En Jie and Ning Xuan are the most often seen playdates with Bosco (and Chloe too). Although not interacting much yet, but their babies-talk and mimicking stunts are just too cute. Plus, Chloe often learns to be a good jie jie in front of these toddlers, e.g. sharing toys and foods, kissing and hugging them non-stop!

8 Passengers and An Axio

There were moments of sianness let out from the cars queuing behind our Axio at the JB/Singapore custom checkpoint. That was when we passed 8 passports to the officer-in-charge for clearance.

And we felt so damn proud. Haha!

We had superb time trying for the perfect porridge (teow chew or steamboat style). Shopping for lots of whats-not. Holding corny fun conversations. And driving to ulu other side of the town for the cheapest formula milk.

I think we need to do that again soon :)

At nearly 3 years old, Chloe is still very much a porridge fan. And often, she will question me why did I not cook porridge for her as often as for Bosco. Tell me about jealousy.

So to make both children happy, I have to cook 'similar food' for the two of them during the weekend. And it ain't that bad after all. Just hope that Bosco will grow more teeth soon to enjoy more varieties of food together with Chloe, apart of porridge and meesua soup.
